FM Plastics has been a partner to the packaging industry since its inception. Unsurprisingly it is one of our largest markets. Polymers are star performers when it comes to efficiency, on average only 3.1 grams of material is required to package a 100 grams of product. Packaging’s main purpose is protection however the kind of protection required varies greatly amongst products the type of material used greatly influences the effectiveness of the protection. Other than protection marketing, ease of use and safety are important objectives.

We have been helping our clients in the food, medical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical & industrial sectors make the right material choices since 1988. Including applications for retort packaging, food, easy peel, blister packaging, pre-mold plastics, shrink film, tubing, bottles, IV bags, sterile packaging and expandable polystyrene.

We have particular expertise in combining several material types to achieve particular performance attributes via Multi Layer Film, using several layers of different materials on top of each other. By laminating these layers the attributes of different materials can be deployed in a single end product.

Our various materials and compounds can meet the full range of performance attributes such as clarity, rigidity, flavour and aroma barriers and heat sealability. All our products meet the highest European standards for food, medical, chemical and cosmetic industries.
